have an crappy time with continental. fly cancel do to no crew. so they told her good luck. Did offer her any refund or hotel. Talk to customer service the best they could do is 200.00n in a voucher. I will never fly this airline again. beware of this airline they are out to get you. they don't have reliable staff working for them. T.J. Cox

and in response to "Andrew Webb". Yes the airline is a business. However most would agree they have poor business practices. Many people do travel on a very tight budget and don't want to loose money they honestly don't need to lose because an airline can't do something as simple as rescheduling delayed flights due to unavoidable circumstances. They nickel and dime people in a time where everyone is struggling to make ends meet. That is the main problem with capitalism. Businesses have learned to take advantage of people in order to expand their own pockets.

Thank you for this information. I fear I may have the same issue this week. I have a flight planned for Wednesday through Continental and according to local weather stations we are expecting another snow storm on the day I'm supposed to leave. However Continental has not posted any possible delays as of yet. (It may be too early to tell anyway) but I do have a gut feeling I will probably get screwed by them. My ticket cost nearly 2grand and I'm supposed to be overseas by Friday at the latest for work orientation. I'm glad I ran across this article because now I know what I may be looking forward to on Wednesday. I don't even know if I should waste my time going to the airport that day if it snows.

Any way Thanks again, and I wish all airlines would adopt better practices when informing customers of delays and offering better options for such delays. The internet is a great tool in getting information out quickly to passengers and I feel there is no excuse for their poor communication when they have the ability to take advantage of the internet to inform passengers of flight delays.

I work for one of the many other Airlines you say have lower prices. You mentioned several times how Continental Prices are higher. It is a well known fact that all...and I mean all "Hub and Spoke" (Not ATA)airlines have the same fares with the exact same routing. What may be different between the airlines is availability. Which in fact would mean that Continental seems to sell out quicker than the other airlines...hmmmm I wonder why that is. In fact most Airlines have the same policies on just about everthing including cancellations, travel certificates etc. The reason you have never heard of ATA is that they changed their name several years ago because of bad publicity due to the crashes they had ( they have a much older fleet than most airlines). And now they are no longer operating. You were lucky they didn't go under on your trip to Vegas otherwise you would have been slamming them. Sometimes when you don't get the answers you want you are compelled to exaggerate a CSR response.to demanding callers which I have no doubt you are. Your gift of $400.00 sounds more like compensation given to your friends for one of their own flights. Otherwise if it was a true gift it would have been in the form of a Gift Certificate. Sorry to hear about your misfortune but it clearly was a weather issue and no airline can afford to compensate for weather issues especially for all of you who fly in and out of the northeast. And not all airlines call when they are bombarded by cancellations all at the same time for a holiday weekend. Air Traffic control can hold back on information to the airlines, as far as anticipating delays or airport closures until they are certain that weather is too bad to allow for departures. Doesn't sound to me like Continental did anything wrong. I work for a "low cost carrier" out of Phoenix but when I travel as a stand by if I have the choice I do choose Continental or Virgin Air. Believe me I have flown them all and the difference between ATA or my airline and Continental is like night and day. Economically speaking it's people like you that spend hours of man hour money trying to get something for nothing that's the problem. The airline industry is complicated but it is a business and last time I checked Continental was ranked right up there with the best of them. There has to be a reason for it. Doesn't sound like you travel much because if you did you would appreciate the kind of airline Continental truly is. I know you posted this complaint sometime ago but when I ran across it I was compelled to post my view.

Flight crew can be rude too! I posted my experience online and was met with many replies that implied the FA did nothing wrong. But she did choose to be rude with me which is why I filed a complaint. Don't post any airline complaints in the airline section at my3cents.com. If you do, you will be met with many replies from CA employees!

Although the in-flight crews were competent and even cordial, the ground crew was the worst I ever experienced. We made flight reservations a month in advance, went to the airport days in advance to get our seat assignments and STILL did not receive seats together on either flight. The flights were overbooked, crowded, confusing and seats assignments were not honored. It seemed like the reservation and entire ground crew was not equipped with education or competence level to keep flight organization in tact. We found that the ground crew was as a whole, mean, sarcastic and even seemed to enjoy the frustration they brought on their customers. I will never fly Continental again because of the ground/desk employees. I must reiterate that the in-flight crews were quite good.

I am not surprise by this story at all. I just got off the phone with a very rude person at continental (Donald). my flight for this weekend got cancel due to the snow storm( which i understand), but continental rescheduled my flight to depart the same day as my returning flight. I'm confuse!!!! I spent the whole night and morning trying to call the 1-800 number but got a message saying to "CALL BACK AT ANOTHER TIME"!!!! Now today i got Donald a Rep at continental telling me if i wanted to reschedule i would have to pay $150(flight change fee)because they already have a flight schedule for me to leave Monday the 19th. So i ask what about my returning flight(which was schedule to return Monday the 19th also),he told me NOTHING he can do. I then told him i will need to change the date to next weekend,he told me i can either take my refund or pay the fee plus the). This is not the first time I got this really BAD CS from Continental Airline. They need to do a much better job talking to customer, delays and rescheduling cancel flights.
