I just received an invitation to a grand gala for the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The minimum price is $1,500, or I have the option of paying $10,000 for “Platinum Seating.”
Hmm. Let me consult the Quicken oracle…
Shucks. Guess I’m not going.
Wondering John Expounded Thusly:
Couldn’t you just make the sacrifice and then deduct it from your taxes as a “Disney”-related expense?
Steve Expounded Thusly:
True, I think $1,250 of it is considered a charitable donation. But that would only get me, what, $4 back? I guess $4 is $4. $1,496 is cheaper than $1,500.
I’m in!
H&R John Expounded Thusly:
My calculations (base and crude as they are) show the benefit to you would actually be about $400, which means you’re really only paying $1,100 for a ticket once April rolls around, which is an enormous value, really, when you think about it. The Bradfords couldn’t visit Disneyland for that.
Sorry, I ain't takin' no comments on this page. Deal, y'hear?
