Sitting in the funky Virgin lounge at SFO. I wish flying was always like this. It’s pretty quiet and they’ve got the kitchen working, so at no cost we’re being offered the following:

* Clubhouse Salad — Seasonal leaves with warm goat’s cheese and carmelized pecans drizzled with thyme vinaigrette

* Grilled Chicken Panini — With roasted peppers and fresh Mozzarella

* Seared Scallops — Served with risotto pancakes and masala yoghurt curry sauce

* Tomato and Parmesan Crusted Tuna Steak — Served with penne pasta and tomato coulis

* Antipasto Vegetable Plate — Roasted eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms and squash served with sun-blushed tomatoes and caramelized onions drizzled with red wine vinaigrett

* Pecan Tart — Served with chocolate sauce and creme anglaise

* Fresh Seasonal Fruit

* Selection of Cheese — With accompaniments

And if I were so inclined, I could choose from their wide selection of wines and cocktails.

Plus they have wireless access.

Can life get much better?

I got flowers today. Flowers! It was so cool and unexpected. I can’t remember the last time I got flowers. It’s been a long, long time.

They’ll be perfect in the “new” apartment. But I have to figure out how to get them home sans spilling or mess or floral death.
