Bewitched Barbie

Sorry. Nicole Kidman’s “twitch” just doesn’t do it for me.

Not by a longshot.

Rodney 's Identical Cousin Expounded Thusly:

Oy! Don’t get me started on that dreadful Bewitched movie. It is going to be awful…Nicole isn’t even playing Samantha…she’s a witch starring in a remake of the TV show!

John Expounded Thusly:

Post-modern irony, of course.

If you want to be really offended at the world’s most needless, self-indulgent remake, just click on this link — but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Sorry, that didn’t work properly. Try this.

Steve Expounded Thusly:

I can’t watch the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory teaser because it’s probably in some dumb-ass format like Windows Media.

However, I do have to say I’m sold on this re-make, though I’m very tentative on its probable success (artistically, not monetarily).

First, they got the title right. The book was not called “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Second, the book did have a much more sinister tone, though it was hilarious, too. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp can pull this off.

I have to hesitate in my support, though, because on the whole, I don’t like Tim Burton films. Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish are the only ones that I would consider good out of his whole library. (CAVEAT: I have not seen Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.) I know there’s a big fan base for Mars Attacks, but I’m sorry, that film sucked. SUCKED.

So while I do not discount Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I am not its cheerleader, either.

(Oh, and poor Nicole’s nose twinkle is pretty bad!)
