Isn’t this the truth! How sad! I feel like this everytime I drive down I-70 heading to Denver and see all the gas drilling rigs sprouting up all along the roadside around Rifle and Parachute. The beautiful landscape is ruined. And now they are petitioning to drill on the Mesa where our watersheds are. “But it’s safe” they exclaim. “The water will not ever be contaminated! We promise!” Sigh!

Yes, they always promise. But you can never fully guarantee a process like drilling into the earth is going to be accident-proof. All it takes in one spill or accident for the landscape to be ruined forever. And the roads and machinery that are built destroy the ground for a good, long time.
